UAE works to boost sustainable development: Fujairah Ruler

FUJAIRAH, 16th November, 2016 (WAM)– The UAE is exerting diligent efforts to bolster cooperation between the public and private sectors, boost sustainable development and make a jump in economic growth, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, said on Wednesday.

There is a need for fostering innovation in the real estate and industrial sectors to create a favourable environment for businesses and attract more investors to the Arab region, he noted in opening remarks at the Second Arab Development and Investment Conference in Real Estate and Industry, a two-day event organised by Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Council of Arab Economic Unity, an affiliate of the League of Arab States.

Investment in the real estate and industry features in Fujairah’s economic development strategy as the emirate seeks to benefit from its natural resources and unique geographical location and attract investors from Arab and other countries, Sheikh Hamad further noted.

Later, H.H. Sheikh Hamad honoured former secretary-general of the League of Arab States Amr Mousa in recognition of his contributions to economic development in the Arab region, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity Mohammad Al Rabih, and other figures.
