CAIRO, — The UAE is participating in the ‘Arab Water Under Occupation’ conference, being held under the patronage of Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, at the organisation’s secretariat-general in Cairo, Egypt.
Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League is leading the UAE delegation at the conference.
Mr. Gheit opened the conference, which is attended by Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Arab ministers of water, representatives of the member countries and water experts from International organisations.
The conference will include four main topics in addition to the opening session, they are water situation in areas under occupation; water rights in the occupied Arab territories and the role of international and humanitarian laws to protect water; Israeli violations of Palestinian water and the challenges of the Palestinian Water Security; Arab Plan of Action to ensure the restoration of fair water rights in the Arab territories under occupation.
