UAE Chemical Society mourns death of Dr. Ahmed Zewail

RAS AL KHAIMAH, 4th August, 2016 (WAM) – The UAE Chemical Society has mourned the death of Dr. Ahmed Zewail, the Egyptian scientist, who won the 1999 Nobel Prize for his work on the study of chemical reactions over immensely short time scales. He was 70.

Dr. Moza Saif Matar Al Shamsi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chemists and President of the UAE Chemical Society, expressed her heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the Egyptian government and people. She also stressed that the Arab and Islamic nations have lost a genius scientist who exerted tireless efforts in the service of science.
