Sizable flock for participation in the 10th edition of ADIHEX (Abu Dhabi 2012) Fun & Games July 18, 2012July 28, 20120 Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) organised under patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers Club, is scheduled to be held from 5th – 8th September 2012 at ADNEC. Since its launch in 2003, the exhibition has been the only activity dedicated to serve visitors and businesses in the Middle East in the sports that use Hunting Weaponry, and in the field of Equestrian, Outdoor Leisure, Marine Sports, Safaris, Arts, Antiques, as well as events and activities for promoting and preserving the heritage of the United Arab Emirates. Over the ten past years, ADIHEX had witnessed stunning growth, and gained immense popularity and unique position. This good reputation has been fuelled by the great efforts dedicated to support and promote protecting and preserving the UAE heritage, traditions and values. Mohammed Khalaf al-Mazrouei, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, Board Member of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, and Advisor for Culture and Heritage in the Court of HH the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, said that the new edition of the exhibition would likely score a growth rate of over 10% compared to last 2011 edition. More than 93% of the exhibition total space has been booked, although it expanded 31,000 m2 in 2011 to 38,000 m2 this year. For the first time, over 600 exhibitors from all over the world are expected to participate in the exhibition. It is worth mentioning that the number of exhibitors and countries to attend the exhibition has increased by over 1200% compared to its first edition of 2003, in which 40 companies from 14 countries participated. In the second edition in 2004, 192 countries from 21 countries participated; and 353 companies from 36 countries participated in the third edition in 2005. On the occasion of the tenth edition, Al-Mazrouei mentioned that the Exhibition associate programme will include miscellaneous cultural and heritage activities. He stressed that the exhibition continues its efforts for establishing sustainable hunting, and supporting a strategy intended to preserve heritage, traditions, and inherent values ?? which characterize the United Arab Emirates. An official statistic study has proved the capability of ADIHEX to impress visiting families last year, which reached some 97,000 visitors, as more than half of the visitors brought their families to the exhibition. It is noteworthy that 82% of them said they would consider bringing their families to the exhibition in the future, thanks to the enhancement of the educational role of the exhibition and the exceptional cultural value it offers, which contributes to deployment of environmental awareness alongside the activities of heritage preservation. Among the international visitors coming from outside the UAE, it was stated that almost all of them (some 90%) were waiting for this annual event. This reflects the Abu Dhabi Exhibition’s strength as a unique and specialized one which offers a variety of world-class fishing products mainly because the purchase rate among visitors keeps going up in the exhibition annually regardless of the global economic downturn. The successful visits to exhibition have led some 96% of the visitors in 2011 to recommend other to revisit it. Besides, visitors from GCC States have unanimously agreed by (100%) to recommend visiting this unique event. The study showed that the entire criteria of the Abu Dhabi Exhibition’s success lie in attracting increasing numbers of frequent visitors who impatiently wait for this annual exhibition; where the most interesting feature was the atmosphere created by the exhibition with the accompanying cultural and heritage aspects, which thereby enhances the exhibition’s successful primary vision of promoting the cultural heritage of the UAE. Yet, ADIHEX still enjoys a high rate of transactions despite the prevailing global economic recession. For the exhibitors’ businesses, ADIHEX holds very high value, and its position -according to the study- as a meeting place for sales and a social networking forum for the exhibitors, is also very high.
