DUBAI, 22nd December, 2015 (WAM) — The Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, has announced the service timing of its entire services during the holiday marking the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed, PBUH.
Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the RTA, said, “All customers service centres will be off duty on the 24th December, and will resume duty on Sunday 27th December 2015. Accordingly, all paid parking zones in the Emirate of Dubai will be free of charge, except for the Fish Market parking lot and the multi-level parking terminal. The exemption will run from Thursday December 24th and the parking fee system will be reactivated starting from Saturday December 26th.”
On the 24th of December, the Red Line of the Dubai Metro service will run from 05:30 am to 01:00 am the following day, while the Green Line will run from 05:50 am to 01:00 am the following day. Dubai Tram services will start at 06:30 and continue up to 01:00 am the following day.
The timings of public buses (Dubai Bus) will be as follows: Public Buses and Main Stations services will run from 04:25 to 01:00 am the following day. Al Ghubaiba Station will start at 05:00 am and run until 12:10 am. In subsidiary stations, the services will be from 05:00 am up to 11:15 pm, except for Route C01; which will be operating around-the-clock. Al Qusais Station will open at 04:40 am and continue services up to 10:50 pm, and Jebel Ali Station will be on duty from 05:40 am up to 09:45 pm.
Metro stations feeder bus services at Abu Hail, Al Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa and Etisalat will offer service from 05:15 am up to 01:10 am the following day and the timing of the feeder service will match the timing of the metro service.
The operational timing of inter-city bus service will be as follows: Main Stations will provide 24-hour service to Sharjah, and from 05:00 am to 11:40 pm to Abu Dhabi. Subsidiary stations, such as Union Square, will operate from 04:30 am up to 01:30 am the following day. Sabkha Station will be on service from 06:00 am up to 01:30 the following day. Deira Station will open from 05:35 am up to 11:30 pm, Karama Station will open from 06:10 am up to 10:20 pm. External stations will offer services as follows: Ajman Station from 04:30 am to 11:30 pm, Fujairah and Hatta Stations will be operational from 06:00 am to 10:05 pm,” explained Al Marri.
About the timing of marine transit, Al Marri said that the Water Bus will be operating at the Marina and Ghubaiba Stations from 09:00 am to 10:00 pm. Dubai Ferry will operate 3 trips at Al Ghubaiba Station in the direction of Dubai Marina Mall, and 3 trips at the Marina Station to Al Ghubaiba at 11:00 am, 01:00 pm and 06:30 pm, and the trip will last for one hour. Another trip will be operated at the Dubai Marina Station at 03:00 pm heading towards Burj Al Arab, and a further trip at 05:00 pm heading to Atlantis Hotel, The Palm. There will be a trip from Al Ghubaiba Station at 03:00 pm within Dubai Creek, and at 05:00 pm heading to Jumeirah Beach.
Diesel-powered abras will run services during the holiday at the Dubai Creek from 10:00 am up to 12:00 am (midnight). Electrical Abras will operate during the holiday as follows: Atlantis Abra from 01:00 pm up to 01:00 am the following day, Global City Abra from 04:00 pm up to 01:00 am the following day, Burj Khalifa-Dubai Mall Abra from 06:00 pm up to 11:30 pm, and Al Mamzar Abra from 05:00 pm up to 01:00 am the following day.
All vehicles testing and registration centres will be off duty on December 24th and will resume duty on Saturday December 26th, except for Tasjeel Al Qusais, Tasjeel Al Barsha, Quick Vehicle Testing and Registration Centre at Al Qusais, and Platinum Vehicle Testing Centre at Dubai Mall, which will be operational during the holiday.
