RCA launches aid initiative in Yemen

SANAA: The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will launch Ramadan aid programs dedicated to help Yemeni poor orphans, people with special needs and Somali and Eritrean refugees who were displaced to Yemeni cities.

The UAE’s humanitarian major completed preparations for the 4-day initiative, according to director of RCA’s office in Sanaa Khalfan Saif Al-Kindi.

The agency will host an iftar banquet for 200 orphaned children who will also receive gifts during visits to orphanages and will also target underprivileged people in slum neighborhoods in the capital city, refugees from Somalia and Eritrea in Sanaa city and Lahaj city in the south and the coastal city of Hudaida, well as Palestinian refugees in Sanaa.

RCA has 12 centers for aid distribution in Yemeni cities as part of “Sanadhum” campaign which was lauched 3 weeks ago to help Yemenis, he noted.
