RAK Ruler orders release of 77 prisoners to mark Ramadan General July 18, 2012July 28, 20120 Ras Al Khaimah: H. H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah has ordered the release of 77 prisoners from the punitive and reformative institutions in the emirate on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. The inmates who have been convicted and are facing deportation orders by the courts will be sent back to their home countries. The move comes in line with RAK Ruler’s keenness to give them the chance to begin a new life and ease suffering of their families. Counsellor Hassan Saeed Al Habsi, Attorney General of RAK Emirate said that the Public Prosecution, upon the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras al-Khaimah and Chairman of RAK Judicial Council, has already started the procedures to enforce the order of the ruler. Al Habsi expressed profound gratitude to RAK Ruler for this great humanitarian gesture which has brought happiness to many families. He also thanked RAK CP, Chairman of the Judicial Council for the support he extends to the Public Prosecution and the judiciary in the emirate.
