RAK CP attends Quran memorization competition closing ceremony

RAS AL KHAIMAH: H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, crown prince of Ras al-Khaimah, in a ceremony on Saturday honored the winners of the of the first edition of the Saqr Quran Memorization Contest which was organized by the Ras Al Khaimah Quran and its Sciences Foundation.

Director General of the Foundation shaikh Ahmed Al Shehhi, at the closing ceremony, said a total of 120 male students showed strong memorization skills in the four week-contest.

The competition was launched in memory of the late Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, he added.

The Foundation also organized two other events during Ramadan for reciters and lecturers who made positive contributions at the emirate’s mosques.

Al Shehhi praised the strong unlimited support extended to the Holy Quran institutes by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H. H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Ras al-Khaimah. He also thanked H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Saud Bin Saqr for patronizing the ceremony.

In attendance at the closing ceremony were sheikhs, senior officials and guests of the Foundation.
