DUBAI, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, chaired today’s meeting of the Executive Council’s Strategic Affairs Council.
The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the council at Emirates Towers, saw the attendance of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.
During the meeting, the council members discussed Dubai’s policy on endowments and minors funds provided by the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation. They also analysed the latest local developments and best practices, and discussed efforts to manage the foundation’s endowments more efficiently.
The foundation members then explained how it manages assets and investments and presented its investment development policy, which is based upon investment policy governance, investment management, asset allocation, investment monitoring, performance and exit reports, and third party selection control.
The council also discussed the emirate’s plan to reduce waste production and improve its waste management performance.
The Dubai Municipality, too, discussed the current situation in the emirate with regard to waste management, and how to meet its expected waste production targets, as well as related economic and financial effects.
The meeting is part of the responsibilities of the Strategic Affairs Council to support the efforts of the Executive Council in proposing plans and strategies that will help realise the vision of the leadership to achieve excellence, provide appropriate solutions, and improve services.
