ISLAMABAD — A police officer, two of his bodyguards and a civilian were killed, and 11 others, including policemen, injured in an explosion in a major market in Chaman in Balochistan province, Pakistan.
A police spokesman said that preliminary reports suggested that the explosion was either a homemade improvised explosive device or a suicide operation, which targeted a police officer’s car. No one claimed responsibility for the blast.
In a related incident, two border guards were killed and two others wounded today in an explosion in the Kurram Tribal Agency near the border with Afghanistan, where the blast targeted a border guard post.
