DUBAI, 31st October, 2016 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, today attended the launching of the Global South-South Development Expo at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The Global South-South Development Expo, GSSD Expo, is a UN forum dedicated to showcasing successful Southern-grown development solutions that contribute to the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.
GSSD Expo was endorsed by UN General Assembly Member States through the Nairobi Outcome Document at the High-level UN Conference on South-South Cooperation, held in Kenya in 2009.
This year, the conference will take place from 31st October to 3rd November with the organisation of Zayed International Foundation for the Environment. The forum will see the participation of representatives from the UAE, the United Nations, and 160 countries and international organisations.
