Maitha Al Shamsi receives Danish Ambassador

ABU DHABI, 3rd November, 2015 (WAM) — Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Marriage Fund, has received in her office Merete Juhl, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark.

The meeting touched on strengthening cooperation and partnership mechanisms between the UAE and Denmark, joint relations between the two countries and the possibility of strengthening cooperation in the areas of family, as well as exchanging views on a number of social issues related to youth and the mechanisms of activating cooperation and joint action through the exchange of expertise in many fields.

During the meeting, Dr. Al Shamsi emphasised the depth of the relationship between the United Arab Emirates and Denmark, and the importance of strengthening joint cooperation between social institutions in both countries.

Dr. Al Shamsi expressed her hope to continue exchanging such visits so as to achieve common goals that serve the two peoples. She wished further progress and prosperity for the friendly Danish people, and success in her duties for the Danish ambassador.

For her part, Merete Juhl made extended thanks to Dr. Maitha and commended the great role played by the UAE’s Government under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, towards young people in order to provide support and care for them, as well as appropriate opportunities that will give them a decent life.

She also stressed that the Marriage Fund is one of the leading institutions that sponsor young people and contribute to building and strengthening families’ relations, which undoubtedly reflected on the integrity and stability of society.
