Live Performances Return to Cultural Foundation with Music and Dance Showcases

Cultural Foundation Abu Dhabi is set to host a series of live music and dance shows that will bring the best of world culture to the UAE capital and delight audiences.

After live events returned to the Cultural Foundation, which is managed by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), with a performance by Emirati singer Fayez Al Saeed on 23 September, the programme continues on 7 October at 8pm when Miguel Poveda, the innovative and popular Spanish flamenco singer, will light up the stage. Following this, audiences are in for another treat when Step Afrika!, the first professional company dedicated to the African-American tradition of stepping, brings its high-energy show to the Cultural Foundation on 9 October at 7pm.

The third upcoming performance features the Akram Khan Company with its production Outwitting the Devil on 18 and 19 November at 8pm, where the acclaimed British dance company will blend classical and contemporary dance to take audiences on a riveting journey through time.

The Akram Khan Company is also offering a dance masterclass to aspiring dancers and choreographers on 16 November. Registration is free but those interested in participating should send a CV and a motivation letter to applications@culturalfoundation.ae.

Following the postponement of live shows in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the recent return of the live performances supports DCT Abu Dhabi’s remit to conserve and promote the cultural heritage of Abu Dhabi.

The performances will be held in adherence to government-issued guidelines and precautions, including having reduced capacity in venues. All visitors will require ‘green’ status on the Alhosn app for admission to the Cultural Foundation, as well as a negative PCR test result taken within the previous 48 hours.

Tickets for the concerts are now available starting at AED 100.
