The Libyan Ambassador to Italy, “Muhannad Younis,” urged today, Tuesday, the Italian government to continue its support for achieving stability in Libya.
This came during a speech he delivered at the “Energy for Italy and the European Union: Sources and Rules of the Energy Market” event in Rome, according to what was published by the Italian “Nova” news agency.
“Younis” said that Libya hopes the Italian government will increase its constructive cooperation to achieve stability and development in the country.
He also demanded that Italy contribute to helping the Libyan people restore peace in the country.
The Libyan ambassador said, “Italy has tried, even with previous governments, to help Libya reach the elections, but the Italian position in the past was framed in the European or international context.”
He also called on the current Italian government to play a specific and more effective role in helping the Libyan people achieve stability and elections in the country, in response to the aspiration of the Libyan people to choose their rulers democratically and put an end to the transitional stages that lasted for several years.
