ISLAMIC AFFAIRS ENSURES MOSQUES PREPAREDNESS TO OFFER PRAYER FOR RAIN

In the implementation of the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, to offer Salat al-Istisqa (Prayer for Rain) in all mosques across the UAE after the Friday prayer on 11 November 2022. Dr Mohamed Matar al-Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, said that Awqaf had immediately begun to write the sermon of prayer for rain to be distributed to the Khatibs in their entirety throughout the country. He also said that Awqaf, in collaboration with the Emirates Fatwa Council, had posted a clip illustrating the way to observe the prayer for rain and explaining its validity, in addition to posting a card on the rain-seeking prayer. “A wide range of lectures will be delivered in the mosques and on the smart preaching platform regarding the rain-seeking prayer”, highlighted Dr al-Kaabi. On a related note, Dr al-Kaabi ensured the readiness of Awqaf’s Branches Directors in each Emirate to implement the UAE’s presidential directive.
