Sheikh Hamdan also paid tribute to the nation’s founding fathers, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. His Highness further said UAE citizens have demonstrated their commitment to building their nation and making it one of the world’s leading countries by adopting global best practices and ensuring the highest standards of excellence in various sectors.

Investing in human capital and developing talent to lead the country’s journey of progress has been a key objective for the UAE since its foundation, HH Sheikh Hamdan said. The nation has adopted the latest technologies to ensure it remains at the forefront of the fourth industrial revolution and achieves the best results in the shortest period of time, His Highness said.

His Highness further said the UAE’s ‘Principles of the 50’ document, which sets forth 10 principles, provides the country with a clear vision that will guide its journey in the next 50 years. These principles will serve as core guidelines for all UAE’s institutions to strengthen the bonds of the union, build a sustainable economy, harness resources to build a more prosperous society, forge regional and global relationships to achieve national goals, and support peace and stability across the world.

His Highness highlighted the fact that the UAE has been at the forefront of providing medical and humanitarian aid to nations deeply affected by the COVID-19.

Despite the repercussions of the global pandemic over the last two years, His Highness said UAE citizens have demonstrated their ability to face any challenge. The vision of the leadership, flexible operational systems and the country’s ability to take decisive action backed by the coordinated efforts of local and federal entities, have enabled the country to curb COVID-19 in record time, Sheikh Hamdan said.

The Crown Prince said the UAE’s hosting of Expo 2020 Dubai, a major international event that has brought 192 countries together, is another testament to the UAE’s resilience in the face of challenges. The prestigious event is the largest global show to be organised since the onset of the pandemic.

His Highness further said that on 2 December, the country will prepare to embark on its journey for the next 50 years with clear objectives, focused initiatives and an ambitious vision to lead the world in various fields.
