Global wood and laminate flooring market to reach US$30.9 billion by 2021

DUBAI, Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show is set to break records as the biggest wood and woodworking machinery trade show in the Middle East from 7th – 9th of March 2017 in Dubai World Trade Centre.

According to a 2016 report entitled, “Growth Opportunities in the Global Wood and Laminate Flooring Market”, the global wood and laminate flooring market is projected to reach $30.9 billion by 2021. It is also expected to grow at a rate of 4.2 percent between 2016 and 2021. The major drivers for growth are new construction projects and renovation activities.

“The UAE woodwork industry is growing consistently, mainly due to huge demands in the local market and surging construction activities. According to the Ministry of Economy, the country’s wood imports reached $908.9 million in 2015. The forthcoming edition of the Dubai Wood Show will provide a perfect platform to unveil the latest machinery and wood products, as well as allow suppliers, manufacturers and other industry players to meet and connect,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, CEO, Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions.

“The previous trade shows welcomed 8,082 high quality trade professionals, and over 264 exhibitors from 98 countries. These included 500 different brands, suppliers and manufacturers. We expect an increase of 20 percent for the upcoming shows. The exhibition area has also been increased to 17,388 sqm from 13,680 sqm in the previous shows. The event is gaining a wider reputation every year and it serves as a global venue for displaying the latest technologies and best practices,” he added.

The show’s exhibitors will showcase wood products, including lumber, wood windows, doors, flooring, other millwork, plywood, veneers, engineered wood products, wood containers, pallets and manufactured homes. Participants will arrive from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, India, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, USA, Canada, Chile, Uruguay, Surinam, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Finland, France and other European countries.
