ADDIS ABABA, 31st January, 2017 (WAM) — Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, headed the UAE delegation to the African Summit and discussed possible bilateral relations and other mutual interests with Deng Alor, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of South Sudan.
She expressed the UAE’s keenness in developing bilateral relations with the Republic of South of Sudan, especially regarding economic and investment opportunities.
She also highlighted the importance of signing other agreements between both countries, including avoidance of double taxation and promoting and protecting investments.
South Sudan’s Foreign Affairs Minister expressed his country’s interest in developing bilateral relations, by promoting the natural resources of South of Sudan to attract investments from the UAE’s investors.
The meeting also addressed the political situation in South Sudan, as well as international and regional efforts to reach a possible settlement.
