DUBAI, 17th February, 2016 (WAM) — Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE Armed Forces as Eye Hospital Partner, to provide access to services including vision correction surgery and cosmetic surgery around the eyes for holders of the Armed Services’ ‘Homat Al Watan’ (Homeland Protectors) privilege and discount card. This includes those personnel currently on active service in the UAE military, as well as civilian affiliates of the Ministry of Defence, and retirees.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the Officers Club and Hotel in Abu Dhabi by Major General Ishaq Al Bolooshi, representing the UAE Armed Forces, and Mariano Gonzalez, Managing Director of Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai.
Commenting on the new agreement, Professor Robert Scott, Medical Director at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, said, “Moorfields is very proud to be working with the UAE Armed Forces and privileged to support serving military personnel, affiliates and their families in maintaining their eye health. The forces perform a remarkable role in the protection of society and so it is a special honour to be awarded this partnership distinction. It also strengthens our existing relationship with GHQ and broadens access to our wider services for these patients, who can now benefit from direct booking with the hospital.”
