ABU DHABI, 31st January, 2016 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, today visited the fourth Support Units Shooting Festival, being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The event is organised by the command of the support units of the armed forces in Sabkha Hafar district at Al Ain-Abu Dhabi Road.
Accompanied by Staff Major General Abdullah Mohair Al Ketbi, Commander of the Support Units and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the festival, Sheikh Mansour was briefed about the activities of the festival, which will run until 2nd February. Sheikh Mansour also participated in the shooting, and visited the heritage village.
He toured the festival where he inspected the pavilions and the latest locally-made guns.
At the end of his tour, he commended the support of the wise leadership to the huge development being experienced by the UAE armed forces. He also praised the command of the support units for the efforts in organising the festival and communicating with all members of the community.
The festival aims at developing the skills of the people of the UAE in shooting, promoting the spirit of competition, patriotism and loyalty to the homeland, as well as promoting a sense of cohesion between the armed forces and members of the community.
