Khalifa Fund continues its efforts to enhance business environment in the SMEs sector

AJMAN, 31st January, 2016 (WAM) — Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, KFED, recently organised the thirteenth Tawasul Forum in Ajman as part of the Fund’s interest to spread the quality initiatives aimed at enhancing the business environment and the different regions within the UAE.

Ahmed Al Hashemi, manager of Ajman branch said, “Khalifa Fund will continue working towards creating the appropriate environment for the growth of SMEs all over the UAE. The Fund’s team is making strenuous efforts to enhance the competitive advantages of these projects and enable acquisition of a stake in the local markets.”

“The Fund puts lots of efforts to urge the government, semi-government and private entities to give small and medium enterprises certain privileges to contribute to the development and support for their success. The success of projects financed by the Fund and its development means the success of plans, programmes and strategies of the Fund. The Fund’s management is keen to communicate with Emiratis entrepreneurs and listen to their views and learn about the challenges they face in order to cooperate with them to find optimal solutions for them,” he added.

Bodour Al Wahidi from Enterprise Development and Support Dept. made a presentation in which she highlighted the support given by the Fund to the members. She also pointed to the distinctive success achieved through the Khalifa Fund gateway, which has become a platform for entrepreneurs for the local markets to enable them to market and promote their products and services effectively. In addition to communicating with government, semi-government and national companies as well as being a place for communication among the members themselves.

Hassan Al Soqui, Head of procurement and Helal Al Muharam, operations manager at Sharjah Cooperative Society, SCS, gave a presentation in which they explained SCS services, objectives as well as the procurement policies and procedures and methods to register in suppliers record.

Saad Hakeem from Hungarian Gulf Trading House made a presentation about the center services, activities and privileges and facilities provided to the owners of small and medium-sized projects.

Mohammed Al Janahi, Executive Director of investment Development Department in Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry also made a presentation on the facilities and benefits package offered by the Chamber to its members in general and owners of small and medium enterprises in the Ajman in particular.

Salem Ali Al Yasi, Head of Labor Office –Ajman made a presentation about the terms and condition to issue Labour cards, the mechanism of issuing permits and employments contracts. He also explained the advantages and exemptions provided to the owners of SMEs projects supported by Khalifa Fund, referring to the services of Darb (web portal) and its smart applicants that were launched latterly.

Tawasul Forum included presentations of four projects funded and supported by Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development in various fields and have benefited from the Fund’s services.
