Deputy Ruler of Dubai donates AED600,000 for HCT students

DUBAI, 30th January 2016 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, has donated AED600,000 for students of the Higher Colleges of Technology.

Mirza Al Sayegh, Member of the Board of Trustees of Al Maktoum Foundation, and director of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid’s office, handed over the cheque to Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Vice Chancellor of the HCT, in the presence of a number of officials.

Al Sayegh stressed that Sheikh Hamdan takes great interest in extending financial support to needy students through the HCT’s Associated Students Fund.

Noting that this is Sheikh Hamdan’s fifth donation in five years, Al Sayegh underlined the importance of the HCT as an excellent academic institution.

For his part, Dr. Al Shamsi said students’ need range between food, transport, personal computers and other educational materials.

He noted that the HCT and the Al Maktoum Foundation have been cooperating for years to support students.
