General Women's Union, UNICEF organise training programme

ABU DHABI, 28th January, 2016 (WAM) — The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and General Women’s Union, in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, will organise on Monday a training programme on social work in the child protection field.

The aim of the three-day programme is to develop the capacity of workers in the field of child protection, especially children who are in care institutions and are deprived of family care.

The training programme, which will be held at the General Women’s Union headquarters in Abu Dhabi, will see the participation of lecturers from Zayed University, and trainers from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The training programme is part of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the General Women’s Union and UNICEF plan to ensure the protection of all children in the UAE from all forms of violence and abuse.
