Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court attends closing of falconry competitions

ABU DHABI, 27th January 2016 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, has attended the closing of the President’s Cup for Falconry Competitions, held in Al Falah area in Abu Dhabi, and honoured the winners of the event.

Some 2200 falcons and more than 350 falconers participated in the 13-day competitions, organised by Abu Dhabi Falconers’ Club for the third year in a row.

Sheikh Hamed honoured the individual winners of the final rounds of Telwah competitions (training of falcons) Saeed bin Hilal bin Tarraf, Khalif bin Nasser Al Hajeri, Hamad Rashid Al Ketbi, Humaid Rashid Al Mansouri and Muhra Khalfan Al Qubaisi.

He also honoured the winning teams who received generous cash prizes.

H.H. Sheikh Hamed presented the season’s Falconer Prize for 2015-2016 to Khalfan Butti Al Qubaisi who earned a total of 1320 points.

Later, Sheikh Hamed honoured the sponsors of the competitions.

He commended President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for supporting traditional sports to preserve the UAE national heritage.
