DUBAI, 26th January, 2016 (WAM) — The Emirates Post Group, EPG, has handed over an ornamental frame of commemorative stamps on the golden jubilee (50th anniversary), of the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE (ATCUAE), to Mohammed bin Sulayem, President of the Club, at a special ceremony held at the Club.
EPG’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ibrahim bin Karam, presented the frame of stamps to Ben Sulayem, in the presence of senior officials from the Club and Emirates Post Group.
The club, one of the oldest national organisations in the UAE, since its inception, the organisation played a leading role in the development of motor sports on national and regional levels. Today, it oversees about 140 events, which now make up the UAE motor sport calendar covering several disciplines, including circuit racing, rallying, drag racing and motocross, motorcycling, and other very popular competitions.
EPG CEO Fahad Al Hosani commented, “Emirates Post Group has always supported organisations that work with dedication for the community and to promote sporting activities. We therefore decided to mark the golden jubilee of Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE with special stamps that portray the unique contribution of the club to the motorsport in the UAE.”
EPG Chief Commercial Officer Ibrahim bin Karam said, “We are pleased to recognise through these special stamps the role played by the Automobile and Touring Club of the UAE in the development of motorsport in the UAE.
Thanks to the Club’s efforts, motorsport has reached international levels in the UAE, and we have produced some great champions. The issuing of these stamps is part of EPG’s ongoing collaboration with government entities to promote their landmark achievements.”
The stamps issued in the denominations of AED3 and AED1 are available at all post offices in the UAE, along with a first day cover and a souvenir sheet.
