DUBAI, 26th January 2016 (WAM) — Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health of the UAE, today received official and corporate delegations on the sidelines of the Arab Health Exhibition and Congress, the largest healthcare exhibition and medical congress in the Middle East.
He held a meeting with Paula Wilson, President and CEO of the Joint Commission Resources, the oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care in the United States.
He noted that 60 percent of hospitals (135) in the UAE earned accreditation from the JSC.
The health minister also received a delegation from the US-based Johns Hopkins Hospital, and a Royal Philips delegation led by Ronald De Yong, the company’s Executive Vice President, Chief Market Leader and member of the Executive Committee.
During the meeting, cooperation between the health ministry and the respective organisations was discussed.
