Sultan bin Zayed Culture and Media Centre hosts lecture on Industry of Excellence in UAE

ABU DHABI, 24th October, 2015 (WAM) — The Sultan Bin Zayed Culture and Media Centre hosted on October 20th a lecture on “Industry of Excellence in UAE” by the international arbitration and excellence expert, Dr. Emad Eddien Hussein, in its conference hall in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Hussein opened his lecture by praising the efforts of the Culture and Media Centre in promoting culture and knowledge. He lauded the organisation’s vision and scientific strategy.

Subsequently, the lecturer explained that the concept of excellence finds its source in the Islamic religion, before outlining the different definitions of this concept, stressing that excellence is deeply ingrained in UAE’s culture and foundations laid down by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

In his lecture, Dr. Hussein reviewed UAE’s leading experience in corporate excellence, which has been inspired from the European model of excellence that focuses on achieving outstanding and sustained performance levels, to meet the vision and ambitions of the leadership. He said that UAE adopted the European model and accommodated it to its needs, culture and aspirations, noting that the embrace of this model resulted in a quantum leap in the performance of organisations and contributed to the promotion of continuous development and improvement and support of UAE’s march towards leadership and global competitiveness.

In this regard, the lecturer highlighted the launch by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, of the fourth generation of the government excellence system, which is considered an extension of the development journey achieved by the UAE to become a role model for other governments in Government services excellence, in accordance with the Vision 2021 objectives set by the leaders.

He explained that this system is the first of its kind across the globe that focuses on developing government performance.

Dr. Hussein also spoke about the UAE “seven star” Government Service Excellence Programme, which is an Emirati product par excellence put forward and supported by the leaders through a forward-looking vision, to provide a distinguished seven-star level of government services and an unprecedented experience at the global level.

The lecturer pointed out that the UAE government is looking forward to the future as a major factor in strategic planning for an outstanding performance of its organizations. To this end comes the launch of Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, which encourages the state organisations to focus on innovation as a gateway to the global arena. This centre will focus on the development of an integrated system of modern tools to help government agencies in innovating and transforming government innovative ideas into an organised institutional work.
