Sheikh Mohamed and the visiting Italian prime minister tackled aspects of joint cooperation in areas of economy, trade and investment, whereas they two sides recognised the importance of opening broader avenues for joint cooperation, coordination and consultation in a variety of issues of common concern under the keen interest of Emirati-Italian leaderships to take cooperation ties to new heights.
”Your Excellency’s visit to the UAE is important and vital in furthering ties between our two countries and it will leverage bilateral cooperation and pave the way for constructive joint partnerships. Additionally, this meeting provided an important opportunity for dialogue and exchange of ideas on a host of bilateral topics of mutual concern,” Sheikh Mohamed said.
For his part, the Italian prime minister expressed his delight at visiting the UAE and meeting with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, emphasising Italy’s sincere desire to further bolstering ties with the UAE for realising aspirations of the friendly countries and people.
He also praised the important position the UAE is occupying in the international economic, trade, investment and humanitarian landscape and marvelled at the achievements it has made in areas of progress and prosperity.
Mr. Letta has invited Sheikh Mohamed to visit Italy. Sheikh Mohamed accepted the invitation, the date of which will be set later.
The two sides took stock of the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on an array of agenda of common interest. The Italian prime minister offered a perspective on evolution of political and economic issues regarding the EU and challenges it is facing ahead. The two sides acknowledge the importance of international cooperation in resolving outstanding issues and the need for concerted efforts to attain peace, security and stability in the region and the world at large.
Attending the meeting from the UAE side were Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and head of the honorary mission accompanying the Italian prime minister, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and a number top officials, heads of departments and CEOs.
Italian Ambassador to UAE Giorgio Starace, the entourage of the Italian prime minister, were also present.
Sheikh Mohamed hosted a dinner banquet in honour of his high-profile and his entourage.
