Abdullah bin Zayed, German Foreign Minister discuss cooperation, latest developments

WAM BERLIN, 30th January, 2014 (WAM)–H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, today discussed with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the bilateral relations, especially in the areas of politics, economy, tourism, culture and renewable energy, as well as ways of strengthening them to serve mutual interest of two friendly countries.

Sheikh Abdullah and Steinmeier also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, and positions of the two countries in this respect. They also tackled issues of mutual interest.

The UAE Foreign Minister stressed during the business launch with his German Counterpart that the UAE is keen on upgrading the bilateral relations with Germany in a way that reflects the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

He referred during a press conference held jointly with the German Foreign Minister, to the depth of existing bilateral ties, describing them as “strategic partnership” that reflects genuine mutual friendship between the leadership of both countries.

For his part, Steinmeier welcomed Sheikh Abdullah, noting that such visits could reinforce the bilateral partnership and consolidate the cooperation ties between the two countries in a stronger and deeper manner.

Earlier Sheikh Abdullah met Federal Chancellor’s Adviser on Foreign Policy Christoph Heusgen. During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and the German official discussed the joint cooperation ties and ways to enhance them in the service of joint interest.
