TCA Abu Dhabi unveils “Mamsha Al Khair” installation in support of Year of Giving

ABU DHABI, — Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, has today unveiled the Mamsha Al Khair, which comprises monolith granite and limestone permanent installations set along the Abu Dhabi Corniche promenade.

The installations will reflect the UAE leadership’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of giving among Emiratis, residents and visitors to the emirate.

The installation was revealed by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, TCA Abu Dhabi Chairman, Saif Saeed Ghobash, TCA Abu Dhabi Director-General, and other officials of the authority.

Mamsha Al Khair granite installations will carry inscriptions from the Founding Father late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

An additional 76 Arabic and English quotes from globally renowned inspirational figures such as Ahmed Shawki, Abu Al Tayeb Al Mutanabbi, Al Barjami, Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi and Steve Maraboli, will be engraved in limestone panels that will line the Abu Dhabi Corniche walkway.

Commenting on the unveiling of Mamsha Al Khair, Al Mubarak said, “This initiative is our way of illustrating support and commitment to our leadership’s declaration of 2017 as ‘The Year of Giving’, while simultaneously giving back to the community and promoting the spirit of collaboration, tolerance, and humanitarianism that the citizens of Abu Dhabi emirate are renowned for.

“Set in the heart of the capital on Abu Dhabi Corniche, the monolith installations and quotes along the walkway have been created to enhance the appeal of Abu Dhabi’s breathtaking Corniche beach while promoting social responsibility and cultural inclusion, creating an immersive experience for visitors and residents alike,” he added.

Mamsha Al Khair will further transform the capital’s Corniche area, showcasing the inspirational quotes every 30 metres along the iconic promenade from the East Plaza to the intersection at Emirates Palace.
