Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital gears up preparations

Amman: The Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital is all set to receive Syrian refugees and will begin to provide curative, surgical and preventive services to the displaced Syrians living in makeshift camps in Jordan.

A few days ago, a UAE medical team had arrived in the Jordanian capital Amman to launch the Humanitarian Mobile Hospital which was carried by air and land to Jordan upon directives from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of Red Crescent Authority (RCA).

A team of technical experts were busy in the last few days fixing the hospital and developing an operational plan.

The initiative is launched jointly by UAE Red Crescent and its Jordanian counterpart and will be supervised by the UAE embassy in Jordan.

The unique humanitarian effort aims to alleviate the sufferings of all segments, especially children and the elderly who have fled their homes in the wake of the crisis in Syria.

UAE Ambassador in Amman Dr. Abdul Nasser Sultan Al Amiri said that several Emirati humanitarian and charitable organizations are on the ground implementing various humanitarian projects to help displaced Syrians as per the directives of the wise leadership of UAE.

He also praised the Jordanian authorities for cooperating with the Emirati charitable institutions in providing relief to the refugees.

Al Amiri said that the effort reflects the strong relations between UAE and Jordan, thanks to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and HM King Abdullah II of Jordan.
