Emergency Meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers on Thursday to discuss attacks on Saudi Arabia embassy in Tehran

JEDDAH, 14th January, 2016 (WAM) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an Emergency Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of its Member States, which was called for by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to discuss the repercussions of the breaking into the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and the Saudi Consulate General in Mashhad. The meeting will be held at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah on Thursday 21 January 2016.

The Secretary General had received a letter from Adel Al-Jubeir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in which he called for holding the meeting; and the majority of the Member States have approved holding it, the OIC said in a statement today.

The meeting of the Foreign Ministers will be preceded by a preparatory meeting of the Ambassadors of OIC Member States.
