Education Ministry Wraps Up Mathematics Activities, Competitions for 2022-2023 Academic Year General May 20, 20230 The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Mathematics Department of the Educational Guidance Department, concluded its activities and events for the 2022-2023 academic year in a closing ceremony that witnessed the announcement of the results and the distribution of prizes for the winners. The activities and competitions, which are supervised by the department, stem from the ministry’s endeavor to provide an educational system that rises to the distinguished global educational systems, contribute to encouraging the learning of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics subjects, and develop students in specialized fields that support innovation and competitiveness. Director of the Educational Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Maryam Al Emadi, said that these tremendous achievements made by students in the field of mathematics are the result of their efforts, noting that mathematics is one of the basic subjects that helps students to think and innovate. She pointed out that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education seeks, through the annual activities and competitions organized by the department, to develop the capabilities of students and provide them with skills and knowledge, stressing that the education sector will spare no effort in providing support and encouragement to students to develop their skills and capabilities to build a promising generation capable of confronting challenges and keep pace with development. The competitions come within the ministry’s strategic plan to raise the level of education and students, spread the culture of scientific competition, and achieve Qatar National Vision 2030. The competitions target all students in public and private schools according to specific standards and constantly-updated controls.
