Dubai Municipality recently organized the first training program, using Metaverse at the Talents Development Center, DMX, to enhance and developments in jobs and tasks using cutting-edge technology and smart solutions. the performance of its employees in a variety of administrative areas and broaden their understanding about the latest global advancement in jobs and tasks using cutting-edge technology and smart solutions.
The program is in line with the Dubai Metaverse Strategy, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. The strategy aims to turn Dubai into one of the world’s top 10 Metaverse economies as well as a global hub for the Metaverse community, which will support more than 40,000 virtual jobs that will enrich the national economy by 2030.
About 500 employees from 50 job titles in the administrative, financial, human resources strategic, media and business excellence fields were trained during the workshop. The training included developing administrative skills, introducing the possible worlds of the future in 2030, explaining various types of work environments, and the government and private sector transactions in the business world in the upcoming years. The most important jobs of the future, their working mechanisms, and the flexibility they achieve in the workplace were also taught during the workshop.
The training program achieved several goals and benefits, including implementing and discussing advanced ideas using various tools to merge virtual and real environments in the workplace, and how to utilize all its advanced features in Metaverse.
The training encompassed how to adapt to advanced technology following the sudden change caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the importance of team building using Virtual Reality. Additionally, the program included training the participants to adapt to changes made in real-time in the scenarios presented by the trainer in order to increase or decrease difficulty and stress levels.
The training provided a flexible learning method, as the trainee was present in his own office for 3 hours, during which he/she learned about the most important technologies used in the Metaverse and the latest advancements in this field, in addition to practical applications using oculus VR or tablets.
