Dubai Deputy Ruler learns about du's smart future

DUBAI, 16th October 2016 (WAM) — To get a better understanding of how telecom operator du is facilitating a smart future for people in the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Sunday visited its stand at GITEX 2016.

With the theme ‘Simplicity is technology’s greatest advance’, du is demonstrating life in the future smart city at the tech show, the largest ICT exhibition in the Middle East and Africa.

As the official strategic partner of the Smart Dubai Platform, du is working to bring future technologies to the forefront and enabling the connectivity between people and ‘things’ to create new realities for the UAE and its residents.

Starting operations in 2007, du today offers mobile and fixed telephony, broadband connectivity and IPTV services. It serves more than eight million individual customers and over 80,000 businesses in the UAE.

Chief Executive Officer Osman Sultan and other members of the senior management gave a tour of du’s stand to Sheikh Maktoum and Sheikh Mansour.
