Cases of people of unknown citizenship under study General July 26, 2012July 28, 20120 Abu Dhabi: In implementation of instructions given by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, has issued a resolution expanding the mandate of the special committee following the President’s directives regarding children of Emirati women wedding to foreigners to include ”People of unknown nationality”. The committee met today to discuss measures taken by the Ministry of Interior on this file which included enumerating persons who have rectified their situation which determine their legal status. The committee recommended that those persons receive similar treatment enjoyed by UAE nationals in higher education and health services and have access to sports activities. It also recommended that persons found to be satisfying required conditions will get the UAE citizenship as per legal procedures. The committee appealed to people of unknown citizenship to set their legal status in order as soon as possible in preparation to count eligible cases.
