DUBAI, The Ministry of Health and Prevention, MOHAP, has announced that it will participate in the upcoming GITEX Technology Week 2018, which will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 14th to 18th October, 2018, to showcase its innovative health services and sustainable smart solutions.
Joining GITEX conforms with the ministry’s strategy to build advanced health information systems and implement global standards in patient care and health facility management to bring happiness to customers while improving the medical quality and efficiency.
Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, said that GITEX is an ideal opportunity for the ministry to focus on the latest smart services launched to improve the quality of the local health system and help establish a smart government according to directives of the state’s wise leaders and the common objective of the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071 to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world.
Among the electronic and smart services that will be showcased are the electronic sick leave certification attestation available to private health facilities in the country to attest the patients’ leaves and the electronic payment of service fees. In addition to that, applying for permits to allow entry of imported medicines, including controlled and semi-controlled drugs, to the country can be done online for free, thanks to the ministry’s smart services.
The ministry will also present the electronic promotional game, “Sanad & Rahma”, rolled out to promote the nursing profession and encourage Emiratis to consider becoming nurses. The game uses a cartoon character present during events and activities.
