OIC Secretary-General condemns Afghan ceasefire violations

JEDDAH, Dr. Yousef Al Othaimeen, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, has condemned the ceasefire violations that occurred over the Eid al-Fitr holidays in Afghanistan, with twin-attacks in the country’s Ningarhar Province, which resulted in more than 50 deaths, urging all the parties to respect the extended ceasefire.

Dr. Al Othaimeen expressed his full support to the unilateral extension of the ceasefire by the President of Afghanistan. The Secretary-General renewed OIC’s appeal to all parties and the international community to redouble efforts to make the ceasefire permanent and conducive to advance the Afghan Peace Process.
