Bathily discusses with Barbara ways to overcome the political deadlock in Libya.

The UN Envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, met yesterday with the UK’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Barbara Woodward, and the UK’s Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall.

Bathily said in a tweet that the meeting discussed ways to strengthen their engagement to support Libyans in overcoming the current political deadlock.

“In support of Libyans’ aspirations to choose their leadership and representative institutions, we agreed on the need for stakeholders to establish implementable electoral laws, improve security, and create a conducive environment for free, inclusive, transparent, and credible elections.” He added.
