DUBAI, — The Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services has signed a co-operation agreement with the American Health Association, which aims to transfer US ambulance service experiences to officials in Dubai, and provide opportunities for the corporation’s ambulance personnel and emergency medical specialists to learn the latest ambulance services programmes and obtain an American license to practice this profession in any part of the world.
Under the agreement, signed in Dubai by Khalifa bin Drai, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and Dr. Haitham Odwan, Director of the American Health Association, the corporation’s ambulance staff will have the right to enrol in prominent US universities and centres, to study advanced training programmes in ambulance services, emergency medicine, crisis management, and advanced educational programmes that include leadership, instructor training and further education.
According to the agreement, the American Health Association, located in New York, will hold examinations for ambulance staff at the headquarters of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, for evaluation according to US standards and to grant successful participants with US licenses to practice the profession. Those who fail the examinations will enrol in an intensive training course to pass the US examination.
The American Health Association will also provide special training programmes for UAE nationals and establish a specialised ambulance services faculty, in co-operation with the best scientific American universities.
