The forum will run from 14-15 May in Dubai and it will be attended by representatives from prominent media outlets, thought leaders, academics, policy makers and students from both the Arab region and beyond.
The session titled “Young Emirati talents: ambitions and challenges” will address the most current challenges the Emirati youth within the media sector is facing, the opportunities available to them, and the issues of potential media competition in the future, as well as discussing young people’s perspective on privacy and openness within the media sector in the UAE, the Arab media and the world.
The vibrant media industry makes it difficult for young Emirati media talents to keep pace with challenges and expectations. On top of the emerging social media challenges, a young journalist is facing severe competition to excel in traditional media.
To be challenged in your own home town by prominent Arab and international media organizations fostering in UAE specialized media cities and free zones is such a burden on young Emirati media talents. Working in such competitive and inductive environment, local media workers are threatened by a double-edged knife yet looking into very promising career.
This panel discusses the real scene forced on young Emirati Talents; most particularly, the promising apprentices who had proven competent throughout their short career. Moreover, the panel shall reflect their point of view and highlight their experiences.
