AJMAN, 2nd November, 2016 (WAM) — The Ajman Tourism Development Department, ATDD, is set to attend the World Travel Market, WTM, one of the world’s largest trade fairs, taking place from 7th to 9th November at ExCeL – London.
The delegation will focus on promoting the finest of the emirate’s hotels, resorts, cultural and heritage attractions with the aim of attracting more visitors from the UK market.
The ajman.travel destination website will be highly publicised during the three-day exhibition to generate more traffic to the website. To reflect Ajman’s great heritage, there will be a museum set-up and a corner for henna painting where visitors and participants can experience traditional henna art.
Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of ATDD, said, “Our top priority is to increase the number of visitors to Ajman in 2017 and since the UK market is one of our major contributors, our presence at World Travel Market is very important. Last year, we registered 115,000 room nights from the European market and we plan to increase that by 20%, an ambitious target but we are confident that by strengthening our existing relationships with agents and tour operators and establishing a wider network, we will achieve this.”
The delegation will seek to enhance cooperation with major tourism operators in the UK to promote the tourism sector in Ajman and boost its competitiveness on a global level.
