DUBAI, The 14th edition of Hemaya International Forum will discuss tomorrow “Role of security, Education and Research Institutions in Encountering Drugs and Psychotropic Substances: the Current and Future Challenges” under the theme “Learn to Protect”, from 28th to 29th April, 2019, at the Madinat Jumeirah Conference and Events Centre in Dubai.
Featuring a comprehensive agenda, the forum is expected to attract over 1,500 visitors and participants from all over the world while 22 local and international speakers will share their experiences during 15 scientific sessions and seven specialised workshops on various topics related to combating drug abuse and addiction as well as the efforts undertaken to reduce their impact on our communities.
The forum will address four main topics related to drug abuse and addiction such as “Knowledge and scientific gaps, challenges and its impact on combating narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances”; “academic and training role of the smart and electronic programmes in combating drug abuse”; “scope of the relationship between the law enforcement bodies and the educational institutions, and the mechanisms for consolidating sustainable partnerships among them”, and “social responsibility of governmental and private institutions in supporting security and educational institutions to combat drug abuse”.
A total of seven key workshops designed for industry professionals will also be held on two full days of the event. On the first day various discussions will be held under the theme “Combating Illicit Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Trafficking Through Deep Web” and “Social Role of Institutions in order to Prevent Drug Abuse and its subsequent Negative Effects” while a youth session will focus on “The Role of Youth for Preventing Drugs and Psychotropic Substances” organised by the Youth Leadership Council of the Dubai Police.
On the second day, two additional workshops will be held under the themes “Challenges of Money Laundering Crime and its Role in Financing Illicit Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Trafficking”, “Role of Students in Drug Prevention” and “Protecting Juniors from Drug Hazards”.
