ABU DHABI, 5th December 2015 (WAM) — Some 269 Emiratis have received a share in a AED10.57 million grant from the Marriage Fund.
The total amount of the new grant was approved by Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairwoman of the Marriage Fund, and was transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries who make up the 10 batch in the Fund’s plan for this year.
The Fund’s financial grant to Emiratis contributes to building cohesive Emirati families and social stability and realises the Fund’s main objective of encouraging Emirati men to marry Emirati women.
Al Shamsi noted that the UAE’s 44th National Day is an occasion to celebrate growth, prosperity, security and progress in all spheres in the UAE.
The national occasion, she said, is also a reminder of the efforts made by the founding fathers, namely the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who prioritised nationals.
The chairwoman of the fund added that the wise leaders of the UAE, namely President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, followed the path of the founding father to make the country a regional and international model of progress, growth, prosperity and safety.
The Marriage Fund itself is one of the fruits of the UAE Union, celebrated on 2nd December, Al Shamsi said.
